Francis Kurkdjian composed Le Mâle for Jean Paul Gaultier at twenty-five and spent years as one of the industry's most sought-after noses before founding his own house in Paris in 2009 with Marc Chaya.
Baccarat Rouge 540, released in 2015, became one of the most influential fragrances of its decade. Its saffron-and-burnt-sugar accord has been imitated across every price tier. The house was acquired by LVMH in 2017; Kurkdjian also became in-house perfumer at Dior.
