Miss Dior appeared in 1947, the same year as the New Look collection. Dior treated fragrance as part of the silhouette rather than an accessory, and the house has kept an in-house perfumer ever since: Edmond Roudnitska in the early years, François Demachy for much of the modern era, and Francis Kurkdjian since 2021.
Diorissimo, Roudnitska's 1956 lily-of-the-valley, is still cited as one of the most accomplished florals ever composed. La Collection Privée houses the current experimental work.
